Welcome to the Castleconnell Ahane Herbertstown branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann
Our site features news and updates about music lessons, events and competitions.
The ‘CAH’ branch was founded in the early 1980s by former Comhaltas President, Martin McCabe, who had recently retired to his native village of Castleconnell from Monaghan. In the years that followed, he invited the Cagney sisters from Banogue to teach music classes in Castleconnell and Ahane and these classes eventually spread to surrounding areas. These classes now include Banogue, Herbertstown, Ahane, Feenagh, Roxboro and Lisnagry.
The branch continues to grow and is actively involved in promoting traditional Irish music, song and dance and the work of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann throughout Limerick.
